An earlier edition of the atlas of this series does not have the Cumberland and Westmorland map.This was issued with the 1760 edition, as reported in the Public Advertiser, 22 May 1760,'Three Maps, being the last which completes the Set of the Counties of England, which have for some Years been about, and published as they were finished. The new maps are engraved better than the earlier maps. This example published in the 1763 edition'The Large English Atlas... Drawn From The Several Surveys which have been hitherto Published. James Lowther / of Lowther / in WESTMORELAND, Bart. / Lieutenant & Custos Rotulorum / of Westmoreland / and Lieutenant of CUMBERLAND / This MAP is humbly Inscrib'd. Plate size 70.3cm x 54.5cm, frame size 76cm x 59.9cm. Map in good original condition, central fold as issued, some time toning to the sheet, small tears at each end of the fold with PH neutral tape verso, old soft crease across the bottom right hand corner.
