BEST 18th Cent. ORIGINAL 1775 Wall Map of SOUTH AMERICA Sayer- London
This is the quintessential 18th century large scale wall map of South America. Published by Robert Sayer in 1775 and probably out of the American Atlas. The map title is quite long. A Map of South America containing Tierra-Firma, Guayana, New Granada, Amazonia, Brasil, Peru, Paraguay, Chaco, Tucuman, Chili... The map is printed on four sheets total with 2 upper and 2 lower halves joined already as they are in the atlas. So these would have been cut along thin edge lines and then joined there on the wall map etc.
If joined into one large sheet it would measure 39.5 by 46.5 inches at the printed border line not including the margins. Some edge splits only and usual offsetting. Sheets number 27 & 29.
Laid rag paper with crowned fleur de lis watermark in paper. The item "BEST 18th Cent.
